Oscar Lee Selling, Jr.

Oscar Lee Selling unexpectedly passed away on April 21, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 79. Born in Oklahoma City on May 3, 1941, he spent most of his childhood in Enid, OK and Wichita, KS. Oscar graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1959 and continued to live there until returning to Oklahoma City in 1962. In his twenties, Oscar worked at Jones-Newby Supply and Dayton Tire and Rubber before becoming a licensed electrical journeyman for Baldwin Electric in 1976. Thus began the incredible journey of an intelligent and hard-working man becoming a genius at his craft, despite receiving no formal education. Oscar left Baldwin Electric in 1982 and spent several years working at Pyramid Electric Supply and Trinity Electric Supply before deciding to start his own business. In 1985, he was one of the founding partners of Electratech, a wholesale distributor of Industrial Control Products. In 1992, Oscar founded OSCO Inc., where he designed and manufactured custom design control panels and systems that utilized his expertise in automation and instrumentation. Today, OSCO's custom design control panels and systems are shipped to customers all over the world. In 2016, Oscar sold OSCO but continued to work as its general manager until he retired in December 2018 at the age of 77. In addition to his brilliant mind, Oscar was a perfectionist who insisted on doing things right the first time. He had unwavering integrity with every person he dealt with - both personally and professionally. He was a proud business owner who received tremendous pleasure from mentoring and taking care of his employees. He was a devoted husband to Bev, his wife of 35 years, and loving father and friend. Oscar never missed a moment to say I love you. Prior to his difficult but successful battle with cancer in 2008, Oscar was an avid golfer. But as much as he loved the game, he would often comment on his high handicap and say, "With my golf game you never have to worry about seeing me on national TV." Oscar watched the news every day in order to stay informed about current events, and since his retirement, had read more than 125 books. Oscar is survived by his loving wife Beverly Selling, brother Mike Selling and wife Janet, brother Kevin Baldwin and wife Tracy, daughter Jennifer Montagna and her husband Mario and their children Jonpiero and Francesca, stepdaughter Tera Albert and her children Bentleigh and Noah, stepson Tyler Kennedy and his wife Jennie and their children Bodhi and Lucy, and grandchildren Mariah Maxey and Emily Robinson. Oscar was preceded in death by his mother Betty Baldwin, father Oscar Selling, and son Glen Selling. Oscar will be deeply missed by his friends and family, including scores of other relatives. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 26, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Dr, Nichols Hills, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Regional Food Bank or Catholic Charities.
