Patricia Ruth Neff, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Patricia was born on October 5, 1935, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Roy and Willa Surber. She was raised in Konawa, where she excelled both academically and athletically, especially in basketball. Following high school, she attended East Central University in Ada before beginning an exciting career as one of the early stewardesses for American Airlines.
After retiring from the airline industry, Patricia remained actively involved with the Kiwi Club, a retired American Airlines flight attendant organization, where she built cherished lifelong friendships. She later worked for the Fellers Snider Law Firm and ultimately with Xerox Corporation as a customer service representative and trainer for large Xerox systems. During her years at Xerox, Patricia formed many lasting friendships and treasured memories.
Patricia was married to Kenneth Flanery, with whom she had two children, and later to E. Richard Neff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Willa Surber; her brother, Jerry Surber; her sister, Billie Wilson; her niece, Debbie Wilson; and many beloved family members and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Flanery Coates and her children, Kendall Coates and Jackson Coates; her son, Kevin Flanery and wife Janell Flanery; grandchildren Bart and Julie Shelley and Scott and Haley Shelley; and great-granddaughters Lawson, Lainey, Raker, and Rollins Shelley.
She is also survived by the loving families of her late brother Jerry Surber and wife Monte Surber, including Sandra Surber Bowers and children Heath Thompson and Brooks Thompson; Mike Surber and children Elizabeth Surber, Brittney Surber, and Dustin Surber.
Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, independence, grace, work ethic, and the many lifelong friendships she cultivated throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Souls’ Episcopal Church, Casady School or to the charity of your choice.
