Patty Gardner passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Born on December 16, 1942, Patricia Ann Ferguson was the eldest of four children born to Dorothy and Major Ferguson.
She attended Harding High School and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Tri-Delta organization. In partnership with her husband, Joel Ronald Gardner (Ronny), she founded and operated “The Corner” store on North Western Avenue, a specialty gift and antique store, and later co-managed several businesses including the Gardner Hotel & Restaurant Supply and “The Stores” in Oklahoma City. She later served as a manufacturer’s representative based in Houston, Texas.
Patty dedicated herself to being a mother to her two children, Grey Gardner and Brett Gardner, and a strong partner with her husband Ronny. She was mother-in-law to Julia Lum and Nellie Viner, proud grandmother to Mira, who she deeply adored, sister to Jim Ferguson, Major (Kip) Ferguson Jr., and Suzie Schwimmer, and sister-in-law to Diane Ferguson, Judy Ferguson, Rochelle (Shelly) Whitlock, and Randy Schwimmer. Patty loved bringing people together, cooking for groups and being creative, and made a deep and lasting impact on her family and community.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke on North May Avenue followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park at 2:30 p.m.
