Peggy Fitzgerald, 93 years young, was surrounded by her loving family at her home as she went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2026. Peggy was born in Cooper, Texas on July 2, 1933.  

 She will be remembered with affection by those who knew her and by all who shared in the moments of her long life. To know her was to love her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert (Bob) A. Fitzgerald. She was cherished by her two children, Steve Fitzgerald and wife Tammy, Susan Fitzgerald Barta and fiancé Eric Stone.  She was an inspiration to her five grandchildren, Dabney Poorter and husband Kelly, Makenzie Pannell and husband Matt, Reid Fitzgerald and wife Briana; Blaire Wilson and husband Brent; Brock Barta and fiancé Madison Smith; which carried on to her twelve great grandchildren, Emma and Madelyn Poorter; Peyton, Adley, Georgia and Hayes Pannell; Cora, Noah, Ford and Anna Fitzgerald; Cameran and Cooper Wilson; and many cherished nieces and nephews.  

A Memorial service will be held Monday, September 21 at 1:00 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Avenue.
