Randolph Dayton 'Randy' Royse

Randy Royse was born January 26, 1944, and departed his earthly life peacefully at home on January 20, 2010. Randy was the only child of Dayton and Elmyra Royse. He attended Nichols Hills Elementary, Harding High School and the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Randy was married for 42 years to his high school sweetheart, Sally Amspacher, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Amspacher. Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Sally, and most loved sons, Randolph Dayton Royse, Jr. (Rip) and Phillip Michael Royse, both of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Mike Amspacher and his wife Sherry of Vancouver, Washington, and their children January and James. His faithful dog, Pounder, will miss his best friend. Randy was in the banking industry for over 36 years and started his career at First National Bank of Norman. The next thirteen years were spent at the First National Bank of Oklahoma City. In 1987 he joined Capital National Bank, now NBC Bank, where he served as President and CEO. Randy served on numerous boards, including the Food Bank of Oklahoma, Integris Mind, Body & Spirit, American Heart Association, Heritage Trust Company and Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Randy also served on the board of Oklahoma City Beautiful where he was recently honored with their Individual Initiative Award. Randy loved Oklahoma City and felt it was important to improve and give back to his community. After his cancer diagnosis Randy wanted to do something positive, which led to his cathartic writing of How to Beat Cancer and Play Better Golf. The book generated significant donations to the Jimmy Everest Children's Cancer Center. Randy instilled in us a constant motivation to make the world a better place. In his honor, hug someone today and let them know they matter. "Well done my good and faithful servant."
