Robert Duane (Bob) ColemanRobert Duane Coleman was born on July 18, 1925, in Oakwood, Oklahoma to John and Oleta Scott Coleman, the 4th of 6 children. Bob grew up in Oakwood, attending all twelve years of school, graduating with the class of 1943. The composite picture of their class was printed in the form of a question mark, the future was so uncertain. He was drafted into the U S Navy and served thirty months during WWII as a signalman on the U S S Woodford AKA86. After being discharged, he attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) graduating in 1950 with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.Bob married Jean Davis on the 14th of September of 1952, while both worked for the CR Anthony Company. In 1959 they bought a flower shop, becoming Coleman's Flowers. In 1974, he won the Oklahoma State Florists' Assoc. Designer Of The Year competition. He was a member of the Northwest Christian Church, The Top Tippers Club, Master Gardeners, and the Northwest Optimist Club. He enjoyed many hobbies in his life, especially Genealogy, which he loved to talk about. He is survived by his three children, Susan Shebester, Michael and Teresa Coleman, Scott and Kristen Coleman. Grandchildren are Matthew Coleman, Chelsea Williams, Adam and Megan Coleman, Jack, Claire and Emma Caldwell. Great grandchildren, Kayla, Levi and Addison, and 1 Cousin, Edna Mae Carter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and friends of all ages. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, 12/28/2020 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, under the direction of Smith and Kernke Funeral Home.
