Robert Gerald Thompson, cherished son of Jo Ellen Thompson, passed away on March 19th, 2026, at the age of 55. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robert’s life was a testament to loyalty, kindness, and unwavering friendship.

A proud graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School, Robert went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Oklahoma. His passion and determination led him to become the principal owner of his own HVAC engineering firm, a true mark of his independence and entrepreneurial spirit.

Robert was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warm and generous heart. He loved surrounding himself with friends, cherishing every moment spent together. A devout Catholic, his faith was a guiding light throughout his life.

Beyond his work and faith, Robert found joy in photography, travel, gaming of all kinds, and learning the Japanese language. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he famously went the extra mile—sometimes literally. On one memorable occasion, he traveled 500 miles just to help a friend move, exemplifying the true meaning of friendship.

Robert leaves behind countless friends who will deeply miss his dependable and kindhearted presence. His legacy of love, friendship, and dedication will forever remain in their hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, on April 10th at 10:30 a.m., with a viewing beginning thirty minutes prior. For those wishing to honor Robert’s memory, flowers can be sent through Cheevers Flowers, or donations may be made in his name to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.

Robert Gerald Thompson’s life reminds us all of the strength found in friendship, faith, and following one’s path with courage and kindness. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
