RuAna Johnson

RuAna was born in 1946 on a farm near Madill, Oklahoma, and learned industry, hard work, resilience, and creativity from her parents. Early, she also learned the value of discipline and resourcefulness, qualities that shaped her remarkable life.

The daughter of two dedicated educators, RuAna excelled in school, graduating as salutatorian, and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, where she met her husband, Lance. They married in 1966 and built a life grounded of devotion and partnership, raising two children, Todd and Brooke.

RuAna had a gift for bringing joy to others. Known for her humor and creativity, she filled her home with laughter, whether through playful pranks, handmade creations, or unforgettable celebrations for her family. She approached motherhood, grandmotherhood and great-grandmotherhood as always, the loving cheerleader.

Professionally, she demonstrated strength and wisdom in both business and real estate, earning respect for her leadership and compassion. She also faced significant health challenges throughout her life without complaining.

In her later years, RuAna devoted herself to her faith, leading a women’s Bible study that touched literally thousands of lives. She believed deeply that life continues beyond this world and faced the end with trust and peace.

Her legacy is one of love, strength, humor, and faith which will continue in all who knew her.

Her story, as she would say, is simply: to be continued.

2:00 PM, Friday, May 1st is the Celebration of Life in the Chapel at Crossings Community Church on North Portland Avenue, Oklahoma City.
