Sally Byers

Sally Elizabeth (Cline) Byers was born June 22, 1940 in Tucson Arizona to Don and Frances (Taylor) Cline and raised in Tucson Arizona and passed away on February 2, 2010 after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Sally is survived by her husband Stansell C. (Pete) Byers of the home. Other family members include her daughter Francie Coffey, son-in-law Will Coffey and son S. Brian Byers and daughter-in-law Stephanie Bernhardt Byers and six loving grandchildren; Natalie Coffey, Ryan Coffey, S. Daxton Byers, Aubrey Byers, Georgia Byers and Sophia Byers. After graduating with honors from the University of Arizona with a BS in Education, Sally married Pete on July 27, 1962 and started teaching in Wilcox, Arizona. Over the years she taught in Spring Branch, Texas, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Perry, Oklahoma and retired from Edmond public schools. While teaching in Perry, she completed a Masters in Early Childhood Education at Oklahoma State University. Sally was very active at Quail Springs United Methodist Church and with the Whiz Kids organization. Pete and Sally were very active in Regency Dance Club and the Young Men's Club of OKC where Sally was a member of the Clubettes. Sally was also a member of the Chi Omega fraternity at University of Arizona.
