Scott Patrick Carroll

Scott Patrick Carroll, of Oklahoma City, passed away on August 15th, 2023 after a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer. He was only 65 years old. He was an avid outdoorsman, devoted husband and wonderful father to his 2 adoring daughters. He was also a proud grandfather and pseudo father to countless others. Scott was born on December 7th, 1957 in Denver, Colorado to (the late) Gordon Robert Carroll and beloved Madeleine Hibbert Carroll. He met his lifelong sweetheart, Lynn, while attending John Marshall High School. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursued a career in Petroleum Land Management where he made a myriad of friends and enjoyed the minds and comradery of the oil and gas industry.Scott was an adventurous soul and had a lifelong passion for hunting and fly fishing. He was truly at his happiest when he was outdoors. Although he spent the majority of his life in Oklahoma, a piece of his heart always remained in Colorado. He took annual trips to the mountains and rivers of Colorado as well as New Mexico and Montana to fly fish and be a part of nature. Scott was also an avid golfer and sports fan. He enjoyed spending time in Fayetteville with his family cheering on the Razorbacks. He loved sharing his many passions with friends and family. He found joy serving as a coach and mentor for his daughters' sports and school activities. He had many friends from all stages of his wonderfully full life. You could always count on Scott to bring a smile, a laugh, or a witty toast to lift your spirits. He had an innate ability of loving life and everyone around him enjoyed his company.Scott was an exceedingly kind and abundantly generous person. Although his time after diagnosis was short he never let it stop him from living life to the fullest. Scott never missed a chance to let the people closest to him know how much they were loved, even in his last days.Left behind to honor and regale his memory is his devoted wife, Lynn Carroll, who has been by his side for 48 years. He is also survived by siblings, Bob Carroll, Dick Carroll, and Chris Wager. Scott's greatest joy was being a dad to daughters Brooke Allen and husband Zack, Jacqulynn Wood and husband Patrick, and "Scoot" to granddaughter, Avery Allen. He was "Uncle Scott" to countless others who all have a story to tell of his shenanigans. The family is forever grateful to his many friends for their invaluable support and surrounding Scott in love and laughter in his last months. His larger-than-life spirit will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Esophageal Cancer Action Network (ecan.org) to fund research, education, and awareness in Scott's memory.
