Shawnette Adele Jones-Taylor

Mrs. Shawnette “Shawnee” Adele Jones‑Taylor, daughter of the late Doyle Jones and Shirley Lucielle Durham‑Jones, was born on June 8, 1964, in Banning, California, and passed peacefully from this life on April 23, 2026, in her home.

Shawnette attended public schools in Noble, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Shawnee High School.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Brice “Pops” William Taylor Jr. on July 27, 2010, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This union blessed them with 13 years of marital bliss. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death on September 15, 2023.

Shawnette will be most remembered for her captivating smile—a true reflection of her joyful spirit. Her kind heart extended warmth and compassion to all she encountered. Her gregarious sense of humor brought laughter and light into every room, and she possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. Her presence was a gift, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

She lived life embracing each day with a free spirit and infectious enthusiasm. Her love for family was a guiding light and a constant source of warmth and strength. Her spirit found its truest expression on the open road—a place of boundless freedom and joy—where the wind in her hair symbolized her adventurous soul and unyielding zest for life.

And, of course, her passion for OKC Thunder basketball brought a special spark to her days. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her wildly capable spirit and warm smile will be dearly missed by all.

Forever a Mom, Meme, Sister, Niece, and Friend to many.

Shawnette was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Doyle Jones, and her beloved husband, Brice Taylor Jr.

She is survived by her faithful companion, Rocco, of the home; one daughter, Krista Knox and fiancé Justin Moore of Beebe, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Yannessia Cowan—her greatest blessing—and partner Trent Island of Norman, Oklahoma; brothers Eddie Jones of Bullhead City, Arizona; Bryan Jones and wife Kelly Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas; Steve Jones and wife Kristi Jones of Norman, Oklahoma; Mike Jones and wife Barbara Jones of Pensacola, Florida; sister Ardis Jones of La Verne, California; sister‑in‑law Brandi Ressler of Bullhead City, Arizona; two aunts, Rita Walker and Dale Bourdalies, both of Kingman, Arizona; one uncle, Rickie Durham of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of cousins and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to dear friend Itssel Morales and family, Wind & Fire Heartland Chapter 65, and ORFA, for their love, support, and compassion.
