Shelly Delane Smith

Shelly (Delane) Smith left this world for her Heavenly home on March 22, 2026 after suffering from a long illness. Delane was born in Oklahoma City to Virginia Sue Phillips and Delano Huebert Smith on July 11, 1965. She graduated from Moore High School where she was on the cheerleading squad and was a member of the OKC Hi Lo Twisters gymnastics team. Both reading and writing poetry were her passions and she would often write poems for special family occasions or events. Her proudest moment was the birth of her beloved daughter, McKenzie in 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, McKenzie Morgan; McKenzie’s father, Stephen Allen Morgan; two sisters, Kim and Samantha; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother, Ila Virginia McGeHee.
