Sidney Carol Ford

Sidney Carol (Earnest) Ford went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the age of 71. She was born to Wayne and Betty Earnest (Power) on March 6, 1951, in Durant, Oklahoma. Sidney loved traveling, playing the piano, and could often be found reading. She attended OU and UCO where she attained her master's in education. She was a member and officer in Alpha Gamma Delta. Sidney found her calling, passing on her love of leaning as a Special Education teacher. One of Sidney's biggest accomplishments was opening the first classroom for hospitalized patients in Saint Anthony's Adolescent Unit. On December 26, 1982, Sidney married her loving husband, Kenneth L. Ford and together they had their son, Kevin Ford. Sidney is preceded in death by both of her parents, Wayne and Betty Earnest. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Ford of Oklahoma City; her son, Kevin Ford of Oklahoma City; brother, Mike Earnest of Bixby, Oklahoma; and grandson, Thomas Wayne Ford of Tuttle, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 6:00PM, at Mayflower Congregational UCC. Inurnment at an earlier date at Mayflower Columbarium.
