Stefan Walia

Stefan Walia, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, passed away quietly on September 2, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on December 30, 1983, Stefan was a lifer at Casady School and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he majored in Media Technology Arts. Stefan lived a life filled with music, adventure, laughter, and an unwavering love for the people and pets who meant the most to him.

Stefan had a vibrant spirit and an enthusiasm for life that was impossible to miss. An exceptional athlete and passionate sports fan, he found joy on the tennis court, on the soccer field, and cheering on his favorite teams—especially the Oklahoma City Thunder and OU. He loved being active, competing, and sharing his enthusiasm for sports with those around him.

Tennis held a particularly special place in Stefan’s heart. He loved playing, watching, and perhaps most of all, teaching it to others. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for tennis and found tremendous joy in helping others discover a love for the game. The court was a place where Stefan was himself—competitive, focused, joyful, and connected to the people around him. His tennis community was truly a second family to Stefan, of which we are eternally grateful.

He also had a deep love for the outdoors and for adventure. The mountains held a special place in his heart, and he found a sense of peace and happiness in their beauty, especially snowboarding on the slopes of Colorado. Whether playing tennis, traveling, listening to music, or simply enjoying the moment, Stefan had a way of embracing the things he loved wholeheartedly. Music was an important part of Stefan’s life. It was his constant companion and a source of inspiration, comfort, and connection. But above all else, family was his greatest love.

Stefan was an incredibly proud and devoted uncle. He adored his nieces and nephew and took genuine joy in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and being part of their lives. The love he had for Sofia, Liam, Elyse, and Camille was unmistakable, and the memories they created together will remain a treasured part of their lives.

Stefan was also blessed with the unconditional companionship of his beloved dog, Rafa. For many years, Rafa was by his side—not simply as a pet, but as his faithful companion and true best friend. It brings comfort to imagine the two of them together again.

Stefan is survived by his devoted parents, Joe and Joanie Walia; his loving sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Wil Oliva; and his cherished nieces and nephew, Sofia, Elyse, Camille, and Liam.

Stefan’s laughter, warmth, passion, and love touched the lives of so many. His absence leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, the music he loved, the memories he created, and the love he gave will live on in all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Stefan’s life will be held. Details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.
