Susan Ann Hodges

Susan was born March 31, 1947, in Oklahoma City to Robert and Edith Rutledge. Susan attended Oklahoma City public schools and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

She worked in the construction and medical fields.

Susan met James C. Hodges on February 12, 1972, on a blind date and they married on December 11, 1976 and in 1980 she joined him in his restaurant operations.

In 1983, the greatest event of their lives happened when their son James “Clay” was born. Susan was destined to be the “World’s Greatest Mom”, and she was! Clay is a son anyone would be proud of. He is married with two young daughters living in Dallas, TX.

Jim started ANS Inc. in 1988 and she joined Jim in his ANS venture in the restaurant equipment business for the next 30 years, until they both retired in 2018.

In 1991, Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer, she fought it with all available resources and survived. On January 7, 2016, she was diagnosed with bone cancer which she again fought until her sad loss on May 12, 2025. She fought over nine years till the end.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Hodges. She is survived by her loving husband Jim; her son Clay and his wife Courtney; granddaughters, Cameron and Connelly; brother, Joe of Stillwater, Joe's son, Chris and daughter, Heather, and Joe's granddaughter, Alex and grandson, Jordan; and brother, Rahn and wife Rita of OKC; and cousin, Keaton Cudd of OKC.
