Trudi Shelton

Trudi Shelton (Bingham) was born to Elisha (Bing) and Bonnie Lee Bingham in Sayre, OK on June 30, 1947. She went to be with the Lord in the morning hours of April 20^th, 2024.

Moving to Bakersfield, CA. in 1953, She attended Hort Elementary School and Sierra Jr. High. Trudi attended high school at Bakersfield Highschool, later moving to the newly opened Foothill Highschool where she graduated in the second graduating class in 1965.

In her youth she was active in Jobs Daughters, ascending to the role of Honored Queen of Bethel 127.

Trudi and her family were charter members of Westley United Methodist church in Bakersfield where she met and later married Tom Shelton. Trudi gave birth to two children, Michael in 1968 and James in 1971.

She began work shortly after her marriage as a telephone operator with Pacific Telephone, then to AT&T.

After later divorcing in 1990, She transferred with AT&T to Oklahoma City in 1994. After leaving the phone company in 1996, she went to work for AFR insurance in the file room until she retired and lived out the remainder of her life with her partner, Terry Berry.

Trudi was proceeded in death by her parents Bing and Bonnie Lee, and her beloved granddaughter Kathryn Grace and daughter in-law Tiffany Shelton.

She is survived by her partner, Terry Berry, brother Drake and sister in-law Grace, sons Mike and Jim, daughter in-law Kaylene, and grandchildren Maggie, Rick, Rachel, Kati, Justin, Gavin, and Savanah.

Memorials will be planned in both Oklahoma and Bakersfield at a later date and will be announced.
