Warren C.H. Plunk was born on May 6, 1972, to Warren Arthur Plunk and Gen Gu Plunk in San Luis Obispo, California. After graduating from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in English, he pursued his legal education at the Oklahoma City University (OCU) School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2003. It was also at OCU that he met the love of his life, Nana. They married in 2003 and together raised their two sons, Warren Jr. and Weldon.
Since settling in Oklahoma, Warren was an active and respected member of both the Oklahoma Bar and the Oklahoma City community. For nineteen years, he built a solid, trusted solo practice specializing in criminal defense, establishing himself as a seasoned professional within the Oklahoma Judiciary and Criminal Justice System. Warren’s professional excellence was recognized through numerous honors, including the 2017 Lawyers of Distinction award, a nomination for the 2025 Elite Lawyer distinction, and his selection as a Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation. His profound commitment to justice ultimately inspired his recent candidacy for Oklahoma County District Judge.
Beyond his legal practice, Warren was deeply committed to his faith and community. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior not long before becoming a member of Windsor Hills (now Higher Plain) Baptist Church. He then obtained the assurance of his salvation in June of 2009. He was an engaged member of Higher Plain Baptist Church, where his two sons attended the affiliated Higher Plain Christian Academy—a true extension of the Plunk family’s congregation. Faith served as the guiding force in Warren’s life. For over a decade, he led church services for individuals with developmental disabilities, preached in the elementary chapel at the Christian school, and earned a ministerial degree from the Oklahoma Baptist College and Institute. His leadership and compassion left a lasting impact on his congregation and the broader community.
Warren lived a life of exceptional kindness, honesty, and respect, beautifully embodying humility in all that he did.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Arthur Plunk. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nana; their two sons, Warren Jr. and Weldon; his mother, Gen Gu Plunk; his sister, Nancy Plunk; his uncle, Frank Plunk; and his aunt, Patricia Grooms.
