William Lavelle 'Rocky' Barnes

William Lavelle "Rocky" Barnes passed away January 17, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born September 4, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a devoted Paramedic for EMSA in Oklahoma City. William also worked for Cleveland EMS, and Hillcrest EMS, both located in Ohio. While in high school, William took a special curriculum that specialized in health careers. William went on to attend Cleveland Community College, the University of Akron, and Miami University, receiving degrees from each institution. While a student at both the University of Akron and Miami University, he served as a teaching assistant, and had the opportunity to travel with his class to China in 2004. William liked to travel, cook and enjoyed sports. He liked attending games with Charles. He liked making pizza with his "Pizza Pal", Nautica. He loved preparing and cooking meals for his Fiancé, Rashonda. William was a great listener, and loved to give a willing and helpful hand to anyone. He strived to do his best of what was asked of him. William also loved going to the lake. His favorite meal was red skinned potatoes and steak. William is survived by his Fiancé Rashonda Lewis, "Pizza Pal" and daughter, Nautica, "Mama Chris" Christina Lewis, Brian Lewis, Keith Champion, Laverna Lewis and childhood friend, Charles. He will be sorely missed by a host of friends, loved ones and co-workers. A very special and warm thanks to Joanne McNeil and the EMSA Staff, you are the world. For whoever's life William touched, he will be dearly missed.
